Amtrak: Preparedness for Passenger Railroad Emergencies

Cost: $25.00 includes on-site lunch and class materials (All instruction provided free of charge by Amtrak staff and rail safety specialists) This course is held in cooperation with the National Rail Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) Office of Emergency Preparedness. The lead instructor is Art Candenquist; Emergency Preparedness Manager Amtrak / Washington DC. This eight hour course is appropriate for county emergency planners, BLM / USFS rangers, mountain rescue personnel, sheriff / police personnel, EMS, on-board train crews and fire responders.

The eight hour presentation is done in one day and includes 4-5 hours of classroom followed by 3-4 hours of practical rail equipment orientation.

Course content includes:

This is a Rocky Mountain Regional course held once annually in Colorado. Class size is limited to 50 participants.

Participants completing both sections receive an Amtrak certificate of completion and an OL lapel pin.
